Hi, I'm Qiyu Yan.
Working the business side of pet food, learning the science out loud.
Since 2023 I've run the full business line for a pet food factory and its brands across global markets. I'm a certified advanced pet nutritionist, and in the evenings I study for China's veterinary license — and write down what I learn here.

Why I started this site
I kept noticing the same gap: the science is real, but it’s written for other scientists, and the marketing is written to sell. Neither really helps a pet owner make a better decision.
So I started writing the notes I wish someone had handed me — one ingredient, one claim, one “aha” at a time. I work on the commercial side, so I can tell you when the label is storytelling and when it’s substance. I’m also a student, so I’ll tell you when I’ve only just learned something.
This isn’t a clinic and it isn’t a shop. It’s a notebook, and a place to talk.
